| light textures #2 |
[July 08, 2008] |
I will admit, a lot of these are rather unpractical unless you are going for really bold and colorful. A few are good for simplicity, though. Please enjoy and credit. There is also 2 larger textures in there for your own modification, because a lot of it could be taken out for texturizing. :D

| regarding the (miscellaneous) size tag |
[July 08, 2008] |
After thinking through this, I've decided it is a little silly to have a (misc) size tag when the goal for tagging entries is basic search functions. Do with it what you will, but I won't require it anymore, nor will I switch anyone's posts who have been tagged appropriately either way.
Please let me know if you have any questions!

| Tablo's Artist talk on radio |
[July 08, 2008] |
Hi... It's my first post here so if I have somehow gone against the rules or something, please let me know.
I don't think I've seen any posts related to Tablo DJing a radio program in Korea... He's currently hosting a radio program on MBC at 10pm for two hours and yesterday, they had a new corner as a pilot test. It was supposed to be where a guest comes in and talks about his/her music but since it was only a trial run and the team wasn't sure whether it would continue or not, Tablo decided to 'sacrifice' -- his own words XD -- himself and put himself up as the first 'guest'.
I was listening to it while studying so I didn't catch all of it and with 24 hours passed since then, I don't remember everything he had said but mostly, he talked about Fan and One as well as answering a few questions including one related to featuring. Here's what I remember him saying... Just bare in mind the while the topics are in a correct order, what Tablo actually said might be chronologically in wrong order *sweat*
I'm sure some of them are a little different from what he said, I've got goldfish memory coupled with an ability of mixing up what actually happened and what I think happened *sweat* Nevertheless, I hope you enjoyed it... Here're last few links.
http://imbc.com/broad/radio/fm4u/dream/ << It's the website for Tablo's dreaming radio, the program he's currently hosting as a solo DJ, unlike ChinChin where he DJed with Cho Jung Lin. http://www.imbc.com/broad/radio/minimbc/index.html << This is where you can download 'mini', the internet MBC radio program and it's completely free. You do need iMBC ID for it. Even if you have Vista, I recommend downloading installation file instead of using widget version. http://help.imbc.com/foreigner/eng/eng.html << This webpage explains how you can register if you're a foreigner. I warn you that I haven't tried it myself as I'm Korean so I don't really know of the process involved.
**If you're a bit lost with finding the installation file for mini, which you could be, since it's in Korean, I can upload the setup file somewhere, perhaps sendspace. Just let me know if any of you wants to listen to Tablo blabbing in Korean (...) at 10pm in Korean time.**
***I wasn't sure if this post should be f-locked or not since the mini program itself is for public use anyway. If it should be, mods, feel free to change it or just gimme a shout and I'll get to it as soon as possible.**

| Giveaway of the day: Batch photo editing tool |

The site www.giveawayoftheday.com gives away full function software for free. The restrictions are that you can only install it on the day that it is offered and that there is no tech support or upgrade bonuses on any of the software. Today's giveaway is BatchBlitz. Per their site:
BatchBlitz provides an intuitive and efficient way to manage your batch photo editing tasks. While the workflow is very simple and easy, the customizable user actions make the tool extremely powerful. In a typical BatchBlitz task, you simply select some source images, specify where and how to store the output files, define one or more actions, and then start the task with a click. The task actions allow you to filter source files (using regular expressions, for example), rename and convert images, as well as add watermarks, resize/rotate canvas, apply automatic color corrections, etc. The instance preview always gives you a better idea of the actual effects.
BatchBlitz Features:- Simple and intuitive user interface
- Savable batch task
- Highly customizable batch actions
- Instant preview
- Drag-and-drop to re-order actions
- Powerful integrated PhotoEdit.
Supported Batch Actions:- Filter source files (by dimensions, file name pattern, …)
- Rename files on saving (using pattern, sequential numbers, …)
- Convert file format on saving
- Add watermark (text or image)
- Apply automatic color-corrections
- Colorize image
- Desaturate image
- Resize/crop image
- Rotate/flip image.
I thought it might be of interest for anyone making icons with software that doesn't do batch processing or for whom the batch processing available is too complicated.
I have not tried this program so I don't guarantee anything but I've gotten other software I've really enjoyed through this site and thought I'd pass it along.
As of my writing this the giveaway is good for something over 15 more hours.
